A look into our School Green Initiative and how students across Delhi NCR are leading the charge for a cleaner environment.
The climate anxiety felt by today's youth is profound, but so is their capacity for action. At Ecogreen, we believe that environmental education shouldn't just happen in textbooks; it must happen in the soil. That's why our "School Green Initiative" has been rapidly expanding across Delhi and NCR.
Instead of just lecturing students about deforestation, we bring the forest to the schoolyard. Last quarter, we partnered with 15 different schools, providing native saplings, organic compost, and hands-on workshops on plant care. The students are assigned "adoption" roles—taking personal responsibility for the watering and growth of specific saplings over the school year.
More Than Just Planting
The behavioral shift is immediate. Teachers report that students engaged in the program show higher levels of empathy, better teamwork, and a profound respect for school grounds. They start policing littering and single-use plastics on their own.
These young minds are taking the message home, pushing their parents to compost organic waste and conserve water. By empowering the next generation, we are not just planting trees; we are planting the seeds of lifelong environmental stewardship.
